Our work process

Analysis

We carefully analyze each document, taking into account the requirements and expectations of the client.

Result

The cost of translation is known in advance, and the translation is in line with the client’s expectations.

Pre-processing

We reduce the number of words for translation with the latest translation tools.

Result

Translation is completed faster and at a lower cost. Consistency and quality are extremely high.

Translation

All texts are translated by professional translators who are native speakers and are well versed in the subject matter of the texts.

Result

The translations will sound natural and will achieve their intended purpose.

Post-processing

We prepare the texts for import into a content management system.

Result

The translated document will look identical to the original and be ready for immediate use.

Language technologies

When preparing texts for translation and during the translation process itself, we use various language technologies that allow us to reduce costs, perform translations faster and ensure higher quality.

Text Segmentation

Each received text is segmented into sentences and other completed units (headings, indents, etc.) and compared with each other. If the same sentence is repeated several times in the text, we charge it only the first time.

Translation Memory

Translations of individual sentences are stored in a translation database which ensures higher consistency of translations. Also, each text is compared with the database which allows us to access any already existing translations.

Terminology Extraction

With the help of artificial intelligence, we extract key terms from the texts and translate them before the translation begins. In this way, we ensure that the most important terms are translated appropriately and consistently.

Name Recognition

With the help of artificial intelligence, we are able to find names, brands, and addresses. In case of data protection requirements, these names are appropriately anonymized so that sensitive data cannot be deduced from the texts.

Machine Translation

Our translators have the option of using machine translation, but they must carefully assess whether machine translation is of appropriate quality. If it is not appropriate, the translator must adapt it so that it is no different from a human translation.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance tools are being used to check the consistency of translated texts, errors in the translation of numbers and agreed terminology, possible incorrect punctuation and double spaces.

FAQ

We carefully analyze the text before starting the translation. We consider the client’s wishes and requirements regarding terminology, the purpose of the translation and take into account any existing translations. Based on the analysis, we select suitable translators and prepare the files so that the translation process will be as smooth as possible.
The project manager may choose to use a variety of language technologies, such as terminology and name entity recognition, machine translation, and anonymization, which can significantly shorten time and lower the cost of translation. The prepared project is first translated by a professional translator who is a native speaker of the target language, and then reviewed by an experienced reviewer for the highest possible translation quality.

The costs depend on the text length, the desired language combination, the complexity of the text and the number of repetitions in the text. With the help of state-of-the-art language technologies, we can effectively lower the cost of translation by reducing the number of words to translate, because we do not charge you for repeated segments.

During the course of the translation, the sentences are entered into a translation memory which is essentially a database of translated sentences. We only have to translate the first repetition of a particular segment and if the same segment is repeated later, the translation is automatically inserted from the translation memory.

Aikwit helps you define those texts and sections that are the most important for high sales performance in a foreign market. Product descriptions are usually the longest pieces of text to translate, and names the shortest. In other words: the most important text (name) is the shortest and the least important (description) the longest. It makes sense to pay the most attention (and money) to product names, as they are used for search and can have a significant impact on SEO ranking (search engine optimization). Compared to product names, descriptions are less important, so you can spend comparatively less resources on their translation. For descriptions, you can choose a more affordable translation process (machine translation + human review), and for product names one that ensures the highest level of quality (translation + bilingual review + proofreading). In this way, translations of product names will be truly tailored to the local market, and you will be able to achieve significant savings in translating product descriptions.

The final price depends on several factors: the quantity of products and consequently the texts in the online store, the percentage of repetition of texts between products and of course the language into which you want to translate the products. For an accurate estimate, prepare an export of the content for translation and send it to us and we will prepare a quote for you. Almost all online store management systems (Magento, Woocommerce, Shopify and others) allow you to export products and import translations. Aikwit can help you export the content for translation. Let us know if you need assistance.

We use specialized software with centralized terminology databases that allow users to quickly add new terms or search for existing ones. At the end of each translation, we check the use of the correct terminology with automatic terminology verification applications. This ensures consistent use of terminology even when several translators are working on the same project. If desired, the client can be included in the terminology approval process.

We can process all types of files (Microsoft Office, PDF, InDesign and others). We also edit the final layout and/or prepare the texts for import into a content management system. The final document will look exactly the same as the original, so you will be able to use it immediately without any additional work.

Short answer: it depends on the length and degree of urgency. Long answer: we are aware that the dynamics of modern business require short response times – processes that used to last a week or two a decade ago must now be completed the next day, and customer expectations have changed accordingly. We strive not only to meet but exceed them, so we do not charge a surcharge for fast or urgent translations.

Most translations into English, German, Italian and Croatian are done in-house. For other languages, we work with experienced freelance translators who are native speakers of the target language.

In addition to translation into and from all European languages, we also offer proofreading and stylistic editing of texts, creative writing (blogs, advertisements, product descriptions) and audio transcription.
